St. Ignatius of Loyola has been a partner with the Our Daily Bread of Baltimore and Christopher House Center since 2006. Our parish supports their soup kitchen with supplying anywhere from 45 to 125 chicken and rice casserole pans each month. Casseroles are made and donated by our parish families and are service projects for our middle school classes. Our Confirmation candidates each serve at the Our Daily Bread for their service project.
Our Daily Bread service those in need in Baltimore City, and nourishes between 650 and 1000 people everyday of the year.
We are always in need of more donations. Pans can are always available in the back of church and due back to the parish by the 3rd Friday of each month. There is a cooler in the entrance of Building B for after hour deliveries. We also accept frozen mac and cheese, boxes of tea bags, sandwich bags and gently used men’s suits and dress shirts.
Don’t have time, but want to help? Cash donations are also accepted. Please put cash or checks in the collection basket marked “ODB Casseroles” and your donation will support parishioners that will make them for you! Please reach out to Carol Smith for details.
